"While he entered the spring without a single scholarship offer for himself, Kyle Jorgensen quickly got himself on the radars of a long list of division one coaches with his play this spring and summer. He played with the Minnesota Comets Elite program. The 2024 big man was one of the biggest breakout stars on the NY2LA Association this season and he has now made his college commitment. During his junior season, he averaged 24 points and 14 rebounds per game at Washburn High School (MN).
Back in May following the April live periods, University of St. Thomas became the first school to extend an offer to him. Following that, Eastern Illinois, Illinois State, and Colorado State all offered Jorgensen.
Following the influx of offers over the past few months, Jorgensen announced his commitment this week. The rising senior from Minneapolis will be headed west for his college career. He announced his commitment Colorado State and head coach Niko Medved.
"I love the coaching staff," Jorgensen said about picking Colorado State. "They believe in my development and want to help me take my game to the next level. Colorado State has a beautiful campus."
With his unique combinations of tools, Jorgensen was one of the top players on the NY2LA Association throughout the spring and summer. As well to having plenty of size at 6’9” and a strong build, he also has a very high skill set. He is a versatile big man that can not only score it effectively posting up but can also shoot it at a high percentage from the outside and put the ball on the floor well for a big man. "The way they run their offense is perfect for me, allowing me to play inside and out and allowing me to create for myself but mostly others," he said about his fit wiith them.
