Following a tremendous spring on the NY2LA Association it is not too early to look ahead to the summer. With June almost here and July quickly approaching, here are five players that impressed during the spring and are highly intriguing 2024 prospects to see for college coaches of various levels.
Charlie Geske – 2024 – SF – Milwaukee Trailblazers
It’s been a huge spring for the Trailblazers with Geske being a big reason for it. They went undefeated during the first two sessions of the NY2LA Association and then a semifinals appearance at the recent NY2LA Sports Invitational. After a strong junior season in which he averaged 15 points at Brookfield Central, Geske has continued to improve doing a bit of everything to help the Trailblazers win game after game. He is a tough wing forward with a good versatile scoring ability and plays with plenty of energy.
Kyle Jorgensen – 2024 – F/C – MN Comets
While he received interest from a long list of division one programs and an offer from in-state St. Thomas after being one of the top players on the NY2LA Association this spring, Jorgensen is still an underrecruited big man. There are not many 6’9” players with his high-level scoring ability both in the post as well as shooting from the outside. He is a player that mid-major programs will want to see this summer.
Tk Lawson – 2024 – G/F – Houston Superstars
The Houston Superstars were one of the top teams on the Association this spring and Lawson was a big reason for that. He is a 6’6” wing with great physical tools to go along with a versatile skill set to be a standout on both sides of the ball. He picked up an offer from McNeese State back in April and should be on plenty of more division one programs radars with all his translatable tools.
David Meriwether – 2024 – F/C – George Hill All Indy
The big man was a breakout player last summer earning himself division one offers from Illinois State, Miami (OH), Morehead State, Southern Indiana, among others. A former member of the 2023 class that has reclassified to 2024 and will be attending AIA Prep in Ohio. Meriwether is a high upside big standing at 6’10” with physicality to go along with his mobility and skills.
Jake Stephens – 2024 – G – DV45
Throughout the spring, Stephens was one of the top scorers on the NY2LA Association leading DV45 to a 6-2 spring following the first two sessions. He was consistently scoring 20 or more points as well as some thirty plus point games. A versatile scorer at 6’4” with his toughness he scored so well getting into the paint but also proved to be a consistent shooter from both the outside and mid-range. Earlier this month he picked up offers from both Northwood and Quincy and would expect to see more division two offers for him.
