Some thrilling games and plenty of stellar performances to finish off NY2LA Grassroots Invitational In Louisville and the spring season. Just a small sample of some of today’s standouts with plenty more coverage coming in the next few days.

Trey Buchanan – 2024 – PG – Grand Park Premier

One of the top scoring displays of the day with a 28-point performance. Not only is he a marksman from the outside with great range and smooth jumper but he can create his own shot. He moves exceptionally well off the dribble creating separation as well to getting into defense finishing around the paint.

Justice Decker – 2025 – SF – Louisville Legends

While many of the players here made the list for their scoring performance today, Decker did with his overall play. The 6’5” forward did score it well hitting threes at a high percentage spotting up and around the paint but did so much more. With his size, strength, and agility, Decker is a tough defender out on the perimeter but also plays big inside. As well, he impacted the game cleaning up the glass, can handle the ball, and just knows how to play.

Tim Franks – 2024 – SG – Chapman Basketball

While Franks was on yesterday’s standouts list, he gets back on here with another big day which included a 29-point game. He has a pure jumper and was just not missing from the outside hitting six threes. While his hot shooting is nothing new, this weekend his ability off the dribble getting to the rim has really impressed. One from the 2024 class that college coaches will want to be on.

Peyton McDaris – 2025 – PG – Yanders Law

A highly skilled point guard already as a freshman. McDaris showed a good ability to run the point contributed the most with his scoring with 23 points in one of his games today. He has a smooth jumper and was shooting it a high percentage from deep but is also a good playmaker off the dribble attacking.

David Meriwether – 2023 – PF/C – George Hill All Indy

With no Xavier Booker this weekend it was next man up with Meriwether. He is a very agile 6’10” post with good strength that can impact the game in a multitude of ways. Meriwether stood out today with his scoring ability finishing strong around the basket in a crowd but also with his defensive play roaming the paint blocking and altering shots. Week by week his game is taking great strides and has tremendous upside.
