The annual NY2LA Sports Futures Camp tipped this past weekend in Wisconsin and it once again played host to some high caliber prospects. Here’s a look at a handful of 2021 standouts that delivered quality efforts…
Amar Augillard – SF – Zion Benton HS (IL)
Incredibly strong and talented 6’5” small forward with good athleticism. Overpowers defenders attacking the hoop and scores at basket at a high percentage. Finishes right through bigs at the basket, absorbing contact so well. Very few defenders on the wing that can match his physicality and able to stick with him. Was one of the leading scorers at the event to earn himself co-MVP honors amongst the juniors.
Selle Dime – F/C – Golda Meir HS (WI)
Ultra-lengthy big man with a high ceiling that contributes well in the paint on both ends. Skilled rim protector with his length and aggressiveness. So active on the glass on both ends to get rebounds in bunches. Scores well around the basket on dump offs, put backs, and rolling to the hoop. Highly active junior that gets all over the court to chip in and contribute.
Tyrese Hunter – PG – Racine St. Catherine’s HS (WI)
Athletic point guard that is an electric playmaker who can light up the scoreboard. Is able to get to the basket incredibly well, but can also shoot it off the dribble from deep at a high percentage making him incredibly difficult to defend. Great acceleration to blow by defenders with his strong handle and finishes through contact well at the basket. With his shifty moves and ability to quickly pull up he gets good looks shooting off the dribble. From his big performance at the camp, Hunter was honored with co-MVP honors amongst the juniors.
Dylan Kuehl – G/F – Hustisford HS (WI)
Kuehl showed the ability to contribute in plenty of ways at the camp. One of the more energetic players there. Smart defender who knows where to be and plays tough on-ball defense. Scored the ball at a high percentage as he moves well with the basketball to maneuver around defenders to get to the basket. Has a smooth shooting stroke from the mid-range and three. Strong rebounder from the wing too.
Logan Landers – F/C – Brookfield Academy (WI)
Physical and active 6’9” big man with a well-rounded skill set. Effective on the offensive end with his ability to score in a variety of ways. Scored well at the camp with in the post with his back to the basket, driving it to the hoop, and showed off nice touch from three. One of the better rebounders at the camp with his height, strength, and motor.
RaSean McMiller – G – Rich Central HS (IL)
Shifty guard that can score the ball at a high level. At his best attacking the defense. Does a good job shooting it off the dribble in the mid-range as well as getting to the basket often. Smooth jumper off the dribble in addition to being a strong finisher at the basket. Look for McMiller to have a breakout junior season.
Ben Nau – PG – Brookfield Central HS (WI)
Skilled point guard that can score and distribute the basketball equally as well. While Nau is a talented scorer with his shooting ability, he greatly impressed with his passing ability. Did a great job scanning the floor on the move to distribute the ball and really create for his teammates at the camp. Extremely good with the ball in space. Battles on the defensive end to play tough defense on the perimeter.
Nolan Rieder – F/C – Sussex Hamilton HS (WI)
Strong and physical wide body 6’9” post. Uses his frame well around the basket to get good position and finish at a high percentage. Can also spot up from beyond the perimeter and knock down some threes. Tough defender in the middle to shut down the paint.
Alex Singleton – F – Wauwatosa East HS (WI)
Highly active forward with good length. Plays big with his length to defend on the inside nicely but has good agility and quickness for his size to defend on the perimeter. One of the more quality versatile defenders at the camp. Scores the ball well attacking the basket. Strong driver that is tough to stop once he gets going downhill.
