One of the top remaining big men in the Midwest is now off the boards as Jamal Ambrose of Eastview High School and Gain Elite Minnesota has made his college commitment. Earlier this week the 6’10” post chose to play his college basketball at University of Nebraska Omaha of the Summit League.

Ambrose picked the Mavericks over offers from Northern Iowa, Western Michigan, and others. “The whole atmosphere just felt right. I got to play a little ball with some of the team. It seemed to be a good fit for me,” Ambrose said as to why he made his pick.

Another factor that came into play is the coaching staff. “They may be new to UNO but they have built a relationship with me over the past year. They believe in my strengths and want to see me grow as a player.” Other factors in the decision included the support staff and their stadium.

When describing his game on the court, Ambrose said “I am able to space the floor and take advantages of mismatches.” The future Maverick has plenty of upside with size and strength as well with his ability to score inside and out.
