Minneapolis South coach Joe Heiser has the top group of incoming freshmen led by one of the premier prospects in the class, 2024 floor general Jerome Williams Jr.  One of the top players in the Minneapolis City Conference as a freshman this season, Williams has had an immediate impact on the team.

Few prospects from Minnesota (i.e. Gary Trent Jr., Jalen Suggs, etc.) have had the type of national travel ball stripes that Williams Jr earned during his middle school tenure playing and winning on some of the biggest stages at the middle school level with the MN Spartans program.  Further, Williams Jr played on the Minnehaha Academy Red Hawks junior varsity last season, giving notice of things to come.

Starting the season off 4-1 it didn't take long for people take notice of Williams and the impact he was having in making his team better.  Bringing a talented group of his travel teammates with him to Minneapolis South, the situation for the talented freshman is special. Producing at a high level Williams has put up some great numbers this season scoring in double figures in every game.  Currently averaging 17.7 points a game 9 games into the season, he also has three 20 plus point games under his belt.

The standout freshman lead guard possesses great basketball instincts and play making abilities beyond his years.  He sees the floor well and has touch and timing allowing him to pass others open, anticipate plays and control the pace of play. Equipped with range beyond the 3 point line, finishing ability among the trees inside, tight handles, etc. Williams Jr has all the tools of high caliber point guard prospect.

Expect to hear a lot about the talented lead guard as Williams is firmly positioned as one of the premiere 2024 prospects in the state of Minnesota to track and watch closely moving forward.
