WEEK 1 – OTHER 2023 STANDOUTS
(Note – Listed in alphabetical order)
RILEY BROOKS – 2023 – SG – RIPON (WI)
One of the top up and coming sharpshooters in the state, Brooks opened up his league play with a solid performance that displayed his ability to knock down the perimeter jumper and finish at the rim.  His ability to see the floor and create opened some eyes as well.  He scored 8 ppg while kicking out 4 assists and grabbing 2 rebounds a contest during the first week of action.

CHRIS DJURASOVIC – 2023 – F – HOMESTEAD (WI)
An emerging forward in the 2023 class, he opened some eyes with his activity and ability to fill the box score during the opening session.  Still raw in a lot of areas, he’s a solid up and coming big to track closely moving forward.

SOLOMON GARRISON – 2023 – G – HOMESTEAD (WI)
Certain kids really are a pleasure to watch play basketball and Solomon is one of those.  He leaves it all on the court and he has some nice instincts for a young guard.  He can handle the ball, he has a solid perimeter jumper that can be made at each level, and he can create as well.  He had a solid week of work both scoring and creating while also making things happen with his hustle and effort.

LANDON KEY – 2023 – G – WISCONSIN LUTHERAN (WI)
A solid up and coming guard with an ability to slash to the rim and also create on occasion.  He displayed that ability in flashes during the opening week.  Look for him to continue to move forward with his activity and production as the league goes on.

JOHNNY KINZIGER – 2023 – G – DEPERE (WI)
A solid guard that can slide between the 1 and the 2 depending on the need, Kinziger was active and productive during the first week of action.  He averaged 11 points a game while grabbing 4 rebounds and kicking out nearly 3 assists per contest.  Mix in solid defense collecting a couple of steals each game and it was a solid productive opening week for the talented sophomore from Depere.

ANTWAN JONES – 2023 – G – CATHOLIC MEMORIAL (WI)
I really like his potential long term if he continues to develop his game.  He’s got athleticism, instincts, and solid physical tools to go along with nice potential.  His range extends beyond the arc, he can score in transition, and he has the ability to finish through traffic at the rim.  He had a solid week of work as well with flashes of really taking his game to the next level.

BENNETT MCCORMICK – 2023 – G – CATHOLIC MEMORIAL (WI)
A solid emerging guard in the 2023 class, McCormick offered up some brief glimpses of his ability while bringing nice energy to the floor in terms of attacking the glass.  He averaged 4 rebounds a contest and kicked out nearly 3 assists per game and that added to scoring a bit from multiple levels.  Look for his production to elevate moving forward.

BRADEN MCGLOTHLIN – 2023 – G – CATHOLIC MEMORIAL (WI)
He took a really nice step forward during the opening week as he played with confidence and activity to the tune of 10 points 4 rebounds and 3 assists per contest.  Considering he was competing with some of the top 2021’s and 2022’s in the country in some instances that’s impressive for a young sophomore guard.  He has a really nice perimeter stroke and he has excellent feel.  A quality opening week of work.

MAC WRECKE – 2023 – G/F – ARROWHEAD (WI)
An athletic slashing wing, Wrecke was aggressive on the glass collecting 5 rebounds a contest and he created as well to the tune of 3 assists per game.  He finished in spurts at every level but overall his ability to do other things is what stood out the most during the opening week.  One of the top wings in the state, look for Wrecke to take another step forward next week.

PRENTICE YOUNG JR. – 2023 – G – WISCONSIN LUTHERAN (WI)
The multi-dimensional max effort sophomore was active at times during the opening session and he once again attacked the rim off the bounce and brought solid energy on the defensive end of the floor. Emerging as one of the premiere up and coming guards in the Midwest for the 2023 class, look for Young to continue to build on his week 1 efforts moving forward.
