The annual NY2LA Basketball Association saw its championships come to a close earlier this month and in its fourth installment the high school travel circuit once again saw some high quality performances from some strong prospects at multiple levels. We announced our first team selections for the spring and summer yesterday and today we continue our look back with a look at the second team selections for the 2019 NY2LA Basketball Association…

Anton Brookshire – 2021 – G – Kickapoo (MO) – Yanders Law Blue 16U
A top 50 national guard in the 2021 class, Brookshire was exceptional in the spring and the summer. He powered his 16U team to an undefeated mark in the spring session and then helped them to the quarterfinals of the 17U bracket playing up in July. He’s skilled, instinctive, smooth, and a versatile scoring threat from multiple levels. He can play with anyone in the 2021 class nationally and he’s a potential top 25 prospect nationally in the Class of 2021.
Max Klesmit – 2020 – G – Neenah (WI) – WI Blizzard Kuranda 17U
A tough instinctive guard with range and skill, Klesmit makes high quality basketball plays with a high level of consistency. Whatever you ask from him he can produce. He helped his team to an undefeated mark during the spring session and then he followed that up with a number of quality efforts during the NY2LA Basketball Association championships. He’s hearing from a number of Division 1 and Division 2 programs and he’s going to be a steal for whatever program secures his commitment.
Connor Dillon – 2020 – G – Peoria Notre Dame (IL) – Illinois Irish Elite 17U
An athletic guard with a lethal perimeter stroke, Dillon was solid in the spring and he was excellent at times in July. A multi-dimensional guard with bounce, instinct, feel, and an ability to take over the game scoring the basketball, Dillon also showed an ability to fill the box score and attack the glass. A sleeper to some extent in the Midwest, Dillon had a strong travel season and he’s one of those that will be courted by low Division 1 and high caliber Division 2 schools big picture wise.
Keonte Jones – 2020 – G/F – Madison East (WI) – Wisconsin Premier 17U
Jones was solid in the spring but at the NY2LA Basketball Association championships he was consistently active and productive and his play was a big reason for Premier’s run to the championship game before falling to the Michigan Playmakers. A plus length prospect who can play inside and outside, Jones was a versatile piece on the board for Premier and his ability to score at multiple levels, collect rebounds, and deliver consistent efforts game in and game out was impressive.
Hunter-Jack Madden – 2020 – PG – Shore (AUS) – AUSA Hoops Platinum 17U
A strong instinctive guard with range and feel, Madden was among the league’s best in overall floor impact both during the spring and summer. He has an excellent perimeter stroke, he handles the ball well, and he has the ability to score at multiple levels. He showed an ability to score off the bounce, collect rebounds, and max solid decisions and quality basketball plays with consistency. A solid low to mid Division 1 prospect, Madden was exceptionally consistent all spring and summer and he helped his Australian team capture the 17U Gold NY2LA Basketball Association Championship in the process earlier this month.
